Bring Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Your Smartphone with New Google Now Launcher
Surprisingly, Google announced the final name and version number of its next Android release a long time before it will be released to supported devices later this year. The third and final developer preview of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is official and we already dissected it, treating you to the several fresh wallpapers, new boot animation, and some of the more important key features that came alongside it.
As usual with Android, it took the community a short time before the complete teardown of the latest developer preview took place. The latest piece of software that is now available for just everyone willing to give it a spin is the Google Now launcher from the developer preview 3.
Rolling under version 1.2.large, the launcher is pulled straight form developer preview 3, but doesn’t introduce any significant new features in tow. Additionally, the app drawer of the launcher doesn’t feature the vertical app sorting layout on non-preview ROMs, as it’s currently only available on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Google Now on Tap is also not among the feature list.
From our understanding, that version of Google Now comes with some performance improvements, as well as the new wallpapers that we showed you yesterday. You can get the launcher from the source link for your sideloading pleasure.
