Google Chrome 23 Stable Released – Adds New ‘Do Not Track’ Feature

Chrome 23 Stable

Good news for Google Chrome users! Google has updated the Stable channel to 23.0.1271.64 for Linux, Windows, Mac and Chrome Frame. Chrome just got an update with the much-requested “Do Not Track” feature — which Google promised it would release earlier this year.

Do Not Track is an increasingly widespread option. (Twitter added it back in May.) Its goal is to block cookies that give marketers some idea of how you live your life on the Internet. It’s generally used in aggregated data about consumer behavior, although many advertisers — including Google itself — use cookies to target ads to individual users.

This new version contains a number of new features including GPU accelerated video decoding on Windows and easier website permissions. This version also has a new Adobe Flash.
